Okay just one more....I figured since I had all my stuff out I'd go ahead and add some vinyl to the laundry room.... I got the idea here . Okay now her laundry room is sooooooo cute! and her project is much more involved, but I stole her saying. Except I left "press" out, I don't iron, ever, unless in has to be done......

Family of Birds...
Cute? I like them, now I want branches all over my house! It's my little family, and even though the baby isn't born yet I figured I'd add her bird now. She's already a part of our forever family....
I will admit something though, when i'm doing something crafty, I tend to really dislike even number of things..and this has 2 branches, with 2 birds... So I'm wondering if I should add a small branch up top? and then put one of the birds on it? just to throw it off? whatda think? you know what, I'm already thinking I'm gonna do that....I'll show you if I do....
*updated* okay so did a third branch and was just to much...so I just moved that small bird up, now the momma bird seems lonely, but I just keep reminding myself it's a sticker..... but who knows I might move it back.....As you can see this wall is huge! and I've had hard time trying to decide what to do with it....and please don't mind the vent, I need to paint it..not sure why we didn't do that when we painted a year ago, but it's starting to bug me...
Also Jacob just woke up from his nap, and he keeps pointing up to them and giggling....I think he think they're real....It's the closest he's ever gonna get to a real pet for a while, so i'll let him think they're real....

28 weeks!!!
(cheesy smile, I know, but your supposed to be looking at my belly)
Wow! 28 weeks! Third trimester! I can't believe how fast it's going by! And I can't believe how fast my belly is growing! I've been feeling really good lately, and actually starting to get excited about this home birth. I have to say I love my midwife, she just makes me feel so normal...you know when you see the doctor and you tell them whats wrong, and they write it down and tilt their head and give you a look, a look like "your crazy", or "how strange that you would feel that way" (making you feel like you have to prove that heads hurts or whatever it may be)...but anyways I hope you see my where I was going that, if not just enjoy the pictures.....Back to my midwife, I love when I ask her if I'm measuring big (every pregnant lady's nightmare) and she'll just smile and say "your perfect", and "the pregnant body is beautiful" ...and how she "prescribed" me more baths. Now some of you might think this all sounds silly, and no she's not a doctor, but she has had nine kids herself, and has helped deliver more baby's then I'm sure she can count. And the only reason I say she's "helped deliver" is because the mother is really the only one that can deliver the baby. (unless you do need medical invention)...I'm almost thankful for the screwed up medical insurance this country has to offer, that swayed us this way in the first place. (not being able to afford maternity coverage, that barely even covers anything!) Yes at first that's why we look into having a midwife, and having the baby at home to save money and not go into a ton of debt in medical bills. But it has turned into so much more...It has definitely strengthen my testimony and has been a big test of faith. I know my Heavenly Father loves us and has been with us every step of the way so far, and has no plans to leave our side.Saturday, February 13, 2010
Cards
Today while Jacob was napping I got to make some cards. Actually The yellow card I made last week....
I got the idea for this card here. I know her's is a lot cuter, but she's a professional, with a degree in graphic design. So I just take her examples and try to make them into my own. And I just realized I used the same yellow polka-dot paper as she did...totally did not try to copy, but at least I know I have good taste in paper right??
Just a simple card to hopefully cheer someone up...
I think this is my favorite of the day... I just love the little bird (even though I'm not sure what a bird has to do with "best wishes" but whatever), I pieced her together myself :) And I just realized I used the same yellow polka-dots on all the cards I made today...I might need to go to the store and stock up on that paper. On the back side, there's the cutest blue hearts that I used for my valentines blocks...and I only had one sheet...so yeah I'm gonna need to get some more....anyways like you care.....I made this card last week some time.. A lot of the cards I make tend to be earth tones, or worn looking colors/patterns. I was trying to use colors I don't typically use, like bright yellow, bright green and then mixing in black...I don't know it turned out okay....
So that's all... Hope you enjoyed my rambling about paper :)

Things I love.
Since Valentines day is coming up, i've been seeing lovey dovey stuff everywhere. So I thought I'd do a post about the things I love.
I love making stuff out of paper, you all know that by now- I made this card tonight...today has been a long day, Jacob and I have not been getting along...so this craft time was much needed...
Flowers, who doesn't love getting flowers? Matt got these lovely roses for me, for our anniversary. But now they're dead, so I told him not to get me any for valentines day, kind of a waste of money...I'd rather get a big pack of multicolored paper! haha J/k but really I don't want flowers, at least not this year....
Chicken enchiladas, yum! I'm not a good baker at all, but cooking I'm alright. And for some reason my chicken enchiladas always turn out good. The first time I ever made them, Matt said they we're better then his moms! Which is always a good feeling when I hear that. His mom and dad both are pretty good cooks....
And on that note, I wish I had a picture of Sunday night dinners... Every Sunday we go to Matt's parents house for dinner, and I love not having to worry about dinner on Sunday...
San Diego, of course. When I was growing up I thought it was normal for there to be green all around you, trees every where, hills, perfect weather, and moisture in the air. But I guess not. At least my kids will grow up in a more realistic environment.
I know our house looks like every other house on the street (Matt sometimes will even drive past it sometimes haha), but the inside is what makes it special. I love our house, it's perfect for us. And most of all I love knowing it was blessing from our heavenly father. Most of the simple projects we've done have turned into more work then we thought, but that's normal right? I have to say though, I think it's fun working on stuff around the house with Matt...maybe because he's doing most of the work and I'm giving directions....
Who doesn't love a sleeping baby? I love when Jacob is asleep, for obvious reasons....but he just always looks so peaceful and cute, and it doesn't matter how many pictures I take of him sleeping, they never do him justice.....
Our new baby. I took pictures of the stick on girly papper, and boy paper...for scrapbooking purposes of course. And I just realized I used this paper to make my sister something, hahahah oops...don't worry Meaghen I'm sure I got all the nastyness off, before placing it on the paper.....
This picture has 4 things I love. Can you guess all four of them?? I bet you can't. I bet the only person that can is Matt.......okay no more guessing... #4- my sunglasses, I have to have sunglasses, if I don't have them, I don't know the sun blinds me. #3 and #2 are tied, Matt and Jacob! I don't know what I do with out them. And #1- knowing that no matter what happens we're a eternal family.
There are lots of other things that love, like my family, and I hate being so far away all the time. But I love when I can get out there to visit....
And I also really love sleep! And it's just past midnight, i'm sure this post is full of typos, but oh well, my pillow is calling me.......

Guys Night Out
Matt went out tonight with some guys from church, so I had yet another chance to get some therapeutic crafting done. I don't know why but it really is like therapy for me. Just being able to sit, listen to music, create things, and it might sound weird but just be alone. (Although I did put Jacob down an hour early, so that has helped keep the noise down) Lately i've felt like we've made some really good decisions for our family over the past few months. One of the best, getting rid of cable. It was hard at first but it's amazing how much TV we don't watch. And the only reason I bring it up is because I know if we had I'd be watching TV right now. So anyways I made some sketch books. I got the idea here. (one of my favorite blogs) She has alot of really good ideas, and for this particular project she provides a free download for the templates that go inside. Making it super simple, although you have to make the outside cover yourself. I made one for myself and then one to give away. My mother-in-law bought my old cricut machine off of Matt, so he could get me the bigger machine for Christmas. So i've owed her big time! Anyways here they are, pretty simple, and if you like to make cards you should make one, so you have a place to store all your ideas for cards :).
This is a picture of the inside, it's hard to see but if your interested in making one, here's the link for the download.
That's all! I just got a text from Matt and he's on his way home. He's bringing me a butter finger blast from sonic yummy.........

More Valentines Day Crafts
Here's what I did today...I made these.
More blocks, but these are to give away.
And here they are all packaged up and ready to be delivered.
These cute flowers I made the other night at like 10:30...I saw here how to make them, and thought I actually have everything I need. How random is it that I had the white dowels?? I don't even know where they came from, so it was meant to be. Her's are much cuter I think, because she used a heart cookie. But she said she got them at the dollar store, cookies from the dollar store!? yuck! I bet they're like 5 years old. So I used a Hershey kiss for the center instead. Threw them in bag with some candy and TA-DA! I made these for the ladies I visit teach at church, hopefully they like chocolate!
You might be wondering why I'm not posting this stuff on my craft blog, but I just can't keep up with it. Don't get me wrong I make stuff all the time (probably to much) but I forget to take pictures, and then it's kinda a pain to type up the directions. So I'll keep it simple on here. Plus I don't think anyone ever looked at it anyways....

It's about time!
So after living in this house for almost a year, we finally got blinds up in our room! I can't tell you how much better it looks! If you saw our room before you would know, it was pretty ugly.
And with the way the furniture is arrange, (after I moved it all) it's feels so big and bright, I love it, I feel like I have a new room!
This is one of the only pictures I could find with the ghetto blankets..... I think when we took the picture we were hoping you would only notice Jacobs cuteness, and not the background...
And this project i've been wanting to do for awhile. We made a valance, no more nasty track!
Before-
After- You might not think it makes that big of a difference, but I had to look at the ugly yellowed track everyday...but not anymore! Also if you think it looks off centered, it was missing a blind, but a quick trip to home depot fixed that....
