Jacob is 2!

Today is Jacob's birthday! I can't believe he's 2! We love him so much, and he's such a sweet little boy. Although, I'm not gonna lie, he can be exhausting at times. He still doesn't talk as much as every other kid, but he's getting there. Here's a few lists of things all about Jacob....

Things he loves:
  • his monkey
  • running
  • hopping while saying "hop hop hop"
  • dancing
  • spinning
  • taking his diaper off (not my favorite)
  • throwing things
  • helping...he's is such a good helper (this should be its own list)
Things he doesn't like:
  • being in time out
  • when Matt pushes the shopping cart, and I'm around...weird I know
  • going to the scrapbook store, it's like he knows we'll be there awhile
  • being told he can't play with the computer (because he rips the buttons off, right now my laptop is missing 3 keys)
  • most of the food I cook for him
Best helper ever!:
  • when it's time for a bath he knows to take his clothes off and put them in the hamper, we call it the "dirty clothes"
  • knows where the recycling is
  • he know where the trash goes
  • puts his dirty dishes in the sink
  • puts his toys away, where they are supposed to go...very important, everything has a place (his wife will thank me someday for teaching him this very useful skill)
  • he likes to help sort the Laundry, even though I have to re-do most of it...and then it's very important to him that he helps push the hamper back to our closet and says either "help" or "push" while doing so
Words he knows that I can think of off the top of my head:
  • Mom/Momma
  • Daddy/dada
  • Matt
  • Milk
  • bubbles
  • bath
  • poo poos
  • wet
  • bye bye
  • nite nite
  • amen
  • ball
  • dog
  • one...two...jump
  • done
  • down
  • please
  • x-box
  • football
  • Elmo
  • elbow
  • eye, nose, mouth
  • shoes
  • help
  • push
  • huh
  • uh oh
  • more
  • potty
.........okay can't think of any more, but I'm sure there's at least a few more....

Jacob is going to be such a good big brother! He recently starting putting his monkey down for naps, and will tuck monkey under the blanket and give monkey kisses...and today he tucked monkey in with a book...it was so cute!

And yes I did say monkey 4 times, but we just don't know if monkey is a boy or a girl, so we just call the stuffed animal "Monkey" and if he ever starts asking he'll be old enough to understand that it's time to get rid of monkey.....

Baby Stuff

I made these today :).... I used my cricut to cut the fabric and they turned out so cute! Before I cut the fabric, I used "wonder under", which you iron on. And then after it was cut all I had to do was pull the backing off, and iron it onto the onesies. Cool huh....

Yes I'm nesting and I'm really enjoying it!

My mom gave me her "hope chest" for Christmas, I think it was my grandma's at one point. But anyways my dad sanded it down and painted it, and it fits in so perfect with our bedroom. The inside is cedar that makes our extra blankets smell so good. And while I was cleaning out the closet I found three small throw pillows. So I made some slipcovers for them. It was the first time I've done that and it was so easy! I think they turned out pretty cute. I felt like it was missing something....

Now, I've never really liked the pillows that came with our couch and after making those slip covers I felt inspired to make more!

Matt and I went to JoAnn's and picked out some fabric and TA-DA! new pillows! I love them. They look so much better with the room. And the best part when they get dirty, I can just throw them in the wash.

Now the only reason I'm showing you this is because I'm hoping someone will say I have a drawer like that! Now the counter top doesn't always look like this, but the mail does pile up there every now and then....And I don't know why but we tend to just stick junk in the drawer?

But now all clean! And the junk is now where it should be, put away....

I don't know why we hold onto every plastic bag, we never use them up...but they pile up and before I know it they have taken over under the sink. And I hate when people are over and ask to throw something away. It's a mess....

But now ... ahhh ... much better. Just cleaning supplies and trash can, that's it. And that's all there should be under there. I had the red bucket, and tried to keep everyday cleaning stuff in there, so I can just grab it and have everything I need. But I had a lot of sponges, towels and brushes just floating around. With the help of Target dollar spot they now have a home with a matching red basket :) ...

You might be wondering, where are all the plastic bags?? But I made a holder for them, that now has a home in the Laundry room. And the fabric matches our rug in there perfectly! so cute!

I also cleaned out the medicine cabinet, and couldn't believe how much of our medicine was expired! When's the last time you checked the expiration date on all your medicine? If your like me, obviously never!

After I got done with my cleaning yesterday and was ready to have a seat I heard a lot of noise outside. The wind was pretty crazy yesterday....so I opened the front door and found this...more trash! Our neighbors trashcans had fallen over and blew trash all over our yard and down the side of the house, I should have taken more pics. But when I saw this waiting for me at the front door, and just thought you got to be kidding me, does it ever end...

I picked the trash up for them and put the cans up right, but then when I left the house later that day...they had fallen down again...but he was just pulling into his driveway and I figured he didn't need my help.
But I must say I love this weather! I wish it was like this more often!

24 weeks!

Yes I am 24 weeks! I can't believe how fast it's gone by. And yesterday we got to see our little baby, and SHE was sucking her thumb! Yes I said SHE, IT'S A GIRL! In case you hadn't heard. A few weeks ago we had an ultrasound and the tech guessed that it was girl but said she didn't wanna say for sure, so she said we should come back. (We've been going to an ultrasound school, so they've all been free!) This time a student did it and the teacher/doctor confirmed it is a girl. When I got home yesterday, I suddenly had the urge to shop at Target clearance. The weird thing was that I didn't like any of the girl stuff....I couldn't believe it, my eyes kept going to the boy stuff. Although I did end up getting some cute onesies. I'm sure the closer it gets, the more girly I'll get.

Also I guess you could say I've started nesting already?!? Is that weird? It seems so early. But today I wiped down all the doors, cleaned out/re-organized the hall closet, got rid of a ton of baby clothes, cleaned out/re-organized our bedroom closet, and did the laundry. Oh also for a while I've really been hating our couches. They are like a light tan color, and every spot shows up on them. So today I had it, they were just nasty! I've been debating whether or not I should have someone clean them, or just pull the covers off and wash them. So I went for it, I pulled them off and washed them, and they turned out so great! Now I love my couches again! They covers weren't hard to get back on, I couldn't believe I hadn't tried it sooner! I should have taken before/after pics...Oh well I'm sure they'll be nasty again some day. But it's good to know I can just throw them in the wash.

Here's the hall closet...so clean..we'll see how long that lasts.....

And here's our bedroom closet..That piece of furniture used to be in our room, but I moved it into the closet all by myself, yes it was heavy....I also cleaned it out for the new baby... I must say I love our closet now, I also hung hooks on the inside wall, so now all my necklace are organized as well...

Today I also moved our bed, I don't think Matt was too happy about it...not because he didn't like the placement, but because our bed is pretty heavy and I probably shouldn't be doing stuff like that. But I left the really heavy stuff for him, and I can't believe how much more room we have now! I'm gonna put pics up as soon as we get our blinds up, next Friday....I hope!

Matt had a fun day off on Monday, I kept him busy...For Christmas my mom got me a hammock, and we got it hung, and swung in it, and then it started raining so we had to take it down...but once the rain stops it will definitely be going back up! Matt also changed out the faucet in our bathroom, and I can't believe what a difference those little things make!

And I just thought this picture was cute, so I thought I'd share. I love my little Jacob!
