Swimming Lessons
Jacob just finished up his swimming lessons at Hamilton Aquatic Center in Chandler. I think he had a lot of fun, although he screamed a lot too :)

Xbox 360 + Jacob = FUN !
A couple weeks ago we got our tax credit from buying our house. Most of the money went to debt, but we were able to use some of it to buy a new 42" TV and an Xbox 360. Jacob loves to play with the controllers. We all love to play together!
We went to San Diego and he quickly found the Xbox 360.

Camping
We went camping this past weekend, and it was so much fun! Jacob loved being free to run around the campsite, and explore everything. He's such a curious little boy. I think his favorite thing was picking up all the rocks and throwing them. The first day we were there we took a hike into the Grand Canyon. It was the easiest mile and half down, but coming back up was a challenge for all of us! And Matt was carrying Jacob in a hiking backpack, so he had his work cut out for him.
The next day it rained and rained some more. So we spent our day in Flagstaff, had lunch at Olive Garden (we looked liked some hillbillies, having our yearly "fancy" dinner). We took a relaxing drive that killed alot time, while our campsite was being drenched.
On Saturday we did a 11 mile hike that took almost 6 hours. We had alot of good and bad times on that hike. I'll name a few - got rained on, Jacob was screaming for about 25% of the time, I was scared of bears, thunder and lighting ( that was like .5 miles away), got lost for about 5 minuets, 2 miles of the hike went up to 7,000 feet, very green, fresh air, top off the mountain had an awesome view, Jacob slept 15% of the time, got lots of exercise, and felt like we accomplished something we didn't think we could do. Also on this night Jacob throw his binky in the fire, it was petty funny until we realized it was one we just bought!
And on Sunday we packed up and headed home. That morning Matt did go fishing for a third time and finally caught a fish! He was so proud of himself.

Kitchen Complete...for now
Yesterday at 7pm Sears delivered our fridge. It's a black Samsung with french doors and a bottom freezer. It's so big! They had a hard time getting it through the front door and had to take the handles and the freezer door off. When they finally got the fridge hooked up, the Sears guy told us the water dispenser was leaking. We're getting a new fridge delivered to us on Sunday. With our luck it will be during church (starts at 1pm).
This morning I started installing our black maytag over-the-stove microwave. I used the template that came with the microwave and thought everything was going well. I had to go to home depot, but that's typical. When we mounted the microwave there was a 1/4" gap between the top of the microwave and the cupboard. DOH!
I was so hungry that I was ready to just let it be, but Shannon was having none of that. We took the microwave down and raised the wall bracket about 1/4". Luckily the toggle bolts didn't go all the way in the first time. We just pulled those out and could reuse them. However, when I drilled the new holes I hit the 220 V wire to the stove. Sparks flew and I told Shannon to go turn off the breaker. Shannon wanted me to call the fire department, but I called my Dad instead.
When my Dad got there, we inspected the wire and saw that I had only nicked one of the hot wires. The ground wire took a little bit more of a hit, but seemed to be ok. We wrapped a liberal amount of electrical tape around each wire, patched up the drywall and remounted the wall bracket. The microwave looks great!
Here are a few pictures of the kitchen. I hope you enjoy them.

Laundry Room
Okay so I know I'm a dork for posting pics of the laundry room, but besides Jacobs room it's my favorite! It's so bright and cheerful! Mondays my Laundry day (so I can get it over with) so I was able to spend alot of time in there today. Matt installed a really cute set of cabinets so I have plenty of storage for all my spot cleaning supplies (like I do that!). But anyways It turned out great!
