This past month has gone by so fast for us, I don't know where the time went! I can't believe it's almost October...which means it's almost CHRISTMAS, forget Halloween and Thanksgiving. But anyways I thought I'd catch you up on our life.......First lets start with Matt- He's doing really well, and just got promoted at work and really loves his job. He also is enjoying the ASU football season, even though their 2-2 : (. I'm doing well, I'm just enjoying being at home with Jacob. Now that hes a super fast crawler, I have to keep a close eye on him. Jacob just got his first tooth! And I think he's getting a another one because he's been a little cranky. He has also started saying ba-ba-ba which sometimes sounds like da-da....I was hoping he'd say ma-ma first considering I'm with him 24-7! But it's ok I know he'll figure it out.

My mother in-law and I have been working on a rag quilt, were almost done it's gonna be so cute!
Jacob has recently grown out of his car seat and now he's ready for a bigger seat...luckily Matts aunt gave us their old one!

Even though it was 100 degrees outside we thought it would be fun to spend some time at the park. He went on the swings for the first time, and also went down the slide with daddy. Jacob seems to really like the fresh air. Even though it was hot we still had a lot of fun.

A lot has happened since my last post. Jacob is almost 7 months and has started to crawl and explore everything he sees. He also has learned how to pull himself up and stand! I can't believe how big he's getting. We also went and visited Grandma and Grandpa Davis in San Diego and spent some time at the beach. Jacob enjoyed playing in the ocean this time. The last few times we put him in the water he just screamed. This time we sat in the sand where the water was very shallow. He seemed to really enjoy that...even though mommy and daddy got bit by a sand crab :)

While we were at the beach, Matt and I went kayaking. We saw leopard sharks and girabaldis (pretty orange fish) from the kayak. We figured that wasn't close enough, so we grabbed some snorkeling gear and swam with the sharks :O Don't worry, Matt protected me as I jumped on his back. We also saw lobsters and a few big sting rays. It was amazing to see all the animal life in such shallow water!

Before we knew it we had to return to the scorching desert. A few nights ago, we found a scorpion in our apartment. Matt had to save Jacob and me. I sat on the bathroom sink while Jacob screamed until Matt killed it. I made him search the apartment for more, but we haven't found one yet.

This past weekend we went camping with Jacob for the first time. We went to Woods Canyon Lake with Grandma and Grandpa Downs. It was so nice to get away for a weekend. It rained every now and then, but for the most part it was nice. Jacob is getting so big! He's almost 6 months and is so close to sitting up all by himself! He was a great camper and loved the fresh air. I was worried that he might scream and keep the whole campsite up, but he was so good. We hope he grows up loving camping just as much as Matt and me.

On Saturday we went to a wedding and I thought it was a good time to take a family picture. It's so hard to get all three of us together because one of us is always taking the picture. And of course it's hard to get Jacob to smile for pictures. I think he's more interested in the silver shiny thing that's always pointing at his face.

So far this summer we've been able to make it out to San Diego twice. And of course we spent most of our time at the beach. Jacob seems to really like the fresh air, he slept most of time under the umbrella. We tried to splash around in the water with him but he did not like that. I don't know if the water was to cold, or if he was scared of the tiny waves....I don't know we'll try again next time.
