Getting so big!!

I can't believe Jacob is almost ten months! It seems like just yesterday he was still in my tummy!

just because...

Matt surprised me with flowers last night and no it wasn't my birthday or anything, it was just because. In case anyone was wondering he's a very good husband, and works so hard to take care of Jacob and me. We are very lucky to have him!

HO HO HO

My mother-in-law loves to go to craft shows, and the past two weekends she has let me tag along. I got some really cute Christmas decorations. I was looking for some cute stocking holders but haven't been able to find any that I like, so I decided to make my own. I wish I took before and after pictures...I think they turned out pretty cute! When I started they were solid wood with the hook, and that was it.

Jacob's Crib

Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Davis, Jacob finally got a crib. Yay! Shannon and I put it together and we think it looks pretty good. It's definitely a lot bigger than the pack 'n play! We think the mattress will be much more comfortable too.

Family Home Evening

This past Monday for FHE we did a craft. It was so much fun! I love doing paper crafts, and with Matt's help it was even better. We made a Christmas Advent calendar. We can't take all the credit, we did get the idea from someone else.

The numbers are on little tins, so you can fill them with candy! It was so fun I wait to put it out for Christmas!

If you want to make one yourself, HERE is the website with the tutorial.

Halloween

Ok so here they are - our Halloween pictures! We had so much fun on Halloween. First we went to Grandma's house and went trick-or-treating with uncle Brigham. It was so cute! They had a little wagon with seats, so Matt pulled them all over the neighborhood. We couldn't wait to go through Jacob's candy to see what he got! And yes, Jacob was allowed join in on the candy fun. I let him have a lollipop (but only for a picture). Matt told me he let Jacob hold a Twix and a Kit-Kat while they were out in the wagon to keep him entertained. Jacob drooled on the Twix so much that he manged to get it open and get chocolate all over his face. After trick-or-treating we went to a party at a friend's house and ate lots of yummy food. The night was a lot of fun and all our costumes turned out really cute! In case you can't figure it out, Matt was a referee, Jacob was an ASU football player, and I wore one of my old cheer uniforms.

About a month ago, Jacob started shaking his head. He does it now all the time when he's excited or happy. It's so funny to watch, but sometimes we wonder if it's a good thing ...
It's been a rough week. Matt's car broke down and we had to get it fixed. He's been working from home since Wednesday. And then last night I had the scariest night of my life.

Matt went to bed around 10:00 pm and I stayed up to watch TV. All of a sudden I felt something on my leg. I went to scratch it, but realized that it was something inside my pajama pants. I got them off as quick as I could, but my leg was already starting to throb. It was a scorpion sting!

I tried not to freak out, but Matt wouldn't wake up even after screaming at him. Matt finally got up after I smacked him with a pillow. He couldn't understand what was going on because I was having a panic attack. He killed the scorpion and I had to call my doctor immediately. He told me to take Benadryl at night and 800 mg Ibuprofen during the day for the pain. He said it would last around 3 days. It still hurts, but I think I'll be OK.

Here are some pictures of the scorpion.

It was so SMALL! I'm not letting Jacob out of his Pack 'n Play for a while now.

Jacob and Shannon having fun!

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

So today I was bored and decided to go to the scrapbook store, and get some fun embellishments for Jacobs scrapbook. While I was there I came across these super cute letters, and they were only 50 cents a piece! When I bought them they where solid brown, It took me about an hour to make them look so cute.....Jacob was just crawling around around making a huge mess. And then my wonderful husband cleaned up the mess when he got home from work......I was going to do it myself, but while I was being crafty, Jacob messed his diaper and his clothes.....so I had to put in him the tub, clean the poop off the carpet and pick up my mess before Matt got home. But anyways here are my lovely letters! I used some double sided sticky foam and stuck them on the wall, so you see them right when you walk into our home.............

A couple weekends ago we went to Rocky Point, Mexico. We had so much fun! We went with some of Matts family, and some of my family. The weather was great, although the first day was super windy!! One day at the pool it blew some of the chairs into the water...including some of our stuff! But I thought I'd share some pictures....enjoy!

Jacob is table dancing...he's trying to get us free drinks!
Also a balloon guy came by and made Jacob a little doggy.

This was taken at the Mustache man taco place (El Sombrero)...
They have the best tacos ever!

This past month has gone by so fast for us, I don't know where the time went! I can't believe it's almost October...which means it's almost CHRISTMAS, forget Halloween and Thanksgiving. But anyways I thought I'd catch you up on our life.......First lets start with Matt- He's doing really well, and just got promoted at work and really loves his job. He also is enjoying the ASU football season, even though their 2-2 : (. I'm doing well, I'm just enjoying being at home with Jacob. Now that hes a super fast crawler, I have to keep a close eye on him. Jacob just got his first tooth! And I think he's getting a another one because he's been a little cranky. He has also started saying ba-ba-ba which sometimes sounds like da-da....I was hoping he'd say ma-ma first considering I'm with him 24-7! But it's ok I know he'll figure it out.

My mother in-law and I have been working on a rag quilt, were almost done it's gonna be so cute!

Jacob has recently grown out of his car seat and now he's ready for a bigger seat...luckily Matts aunt gave us their old one!

Jacob loves to play the guitar!

Even though it was 100 degrees outside we thought it would be fun to spend some time at the park. He went on the swings for the first time, and also went down the slide with daddy. Jacob seems to really like the fresh air. Even though it was hot we still had a lot of fun.
